It provides a space of support and hope to deal with how life has changed, and to create meaningful and joyful experiences as well as resiliency during the stress of the pandemic.
SOCIAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT & ANXIETY MANAGEMENT SUPPORT GROUP
This is a more structured group that provides ideas and activities to help individuals who deal with social anxiety that is getting in the way of friendships, dating and work relationships and success. The group provides an environment of support to learn from these challenges and have social attempt feel more tolerable and fulfilling.
MEN’S SUPPORT GROUP
This group provides a space and an atmosphere of mutual support and challenge to help men explore their lives, both internal and external. An open attitude among peers is useful to overcome challenges that stemp from feelings of shame, stagnation, isolation and anxiety. In the course of this group, you will develop mutually supportive relationships that will help you define and advance your life goals, and tolerate and manage feelings as they arise.

La Terapia de Grupo es un tipo de terapia psicológica que proporciona una red de apoyo y ofrece la oportunidad de conocer a otras personas que experimentan problemas similares. Group therapy & Support group is a form of psychotherapy that involves a psychotherapist working with several people at the same time. Group therapy is a structured group that provides ideas and activities to help individuals improve their mental health. The group provides an environment of support to learn from these challenges and develop mutually supportive relationships that will help you define and advance your life goals, and tolerate and manage feelings as they arise
Group therapy can be used alone but it is also commonly integrated into a comprehensive treatment plan that also includes individual therapy or medication management.
Group therapy is led by Dr. Shoaib Memon who is a board-certified psychiatrist & psychotherapist. Group sizes can range from four to eight members. Groups meet for 90 min every week and address specific concerns shared by group members. Group therapy sessions is held on site in downtown Chicago, virtual or hybrid group.
Support Groups meet in a quiet and relaxing room with the chairs arranged to make sure each person can see everyone else. To begin, members may introduce themselves, discuss their progress, or share the reason they are in group therapy. Group therapy members will start out as strangers but in a short amount of time you'll develop mutually supportive relationships.
Dr. Memon acts as the group guide by maintaining balance and highlighting important concepts to help you learn about yourself. He will identify and understand life situation and patterns in thinking and behavior, achieve insight and empathy, and work towards change. We do accept BCBS PPO or Self-Pay for support groups service. Our Self-Pay fee for Support Group is $90 per session.

Absolutely! You can join a support group even if you have someone for individual therapy. Some of our clients do both because they see the positive impact of having the group’s support.

Dr. Memon and you will decide on the best support group in Chicago. You will be able to join the Anxiety Support Group if the day/time works for you since all of our support group are currently in-person.

Currently, we do not offer online support group because we see our clients have the most benefit if they are in-person. We like you to be able to see each other and connect. Online support groups limits of being able to connect genuinely with each other.
