WHAT IS PSYCHODYNAMIC THERAPY?

Psychodynamic therapy is a form of talking therapy that includes facilitating a deep understanding of one’s emotions. You will gain more insights into how you think and feel that will help you make better choices in life. This therapeutic process involves the psychotherapist and client exploring and gaining a better understanding of how feelings, actions and events from the past may be influencing our current minds and circumstances.

The goal of psychodynamic therapy is to promote insight, self-reflection, and emotional growth so you can build the life you want to live, achieve optimal health, lead active and fulfilling lives.

WHAT DOES PSYCHODYNAMIC THERAPY LOOK LIKE?

Psychodynamic therapy is an in-depth form of talk therapy

You will meet with your therapist weekly to a few times each week. Session typically lasts for around 45 minutes and you will continue to see your therapist for several months. Therapist provides a personal space for support and understanding for problems and difficulties that you would like to work on and improve. It begins with establishing a strong connection and alliance which provides the frame for the work to take place. We discuss current approaches to life stressors, learn new coping skills, and attempt to achieve better insight into recurring problems. Topics discussed in therapy can be just about anything. We look at barriers to joy and connection and learn to engage differently and more effectively

Clients are encouraged to share their conflicts, fears, challenges, pain, needs and wants. Therapist will identify and understand life situation and patterns in thinking and behavior, achieve insight and empathy, and work towards change. Our goal is to work together to improve your health, wellness, and overall well-being
